A useful distinction
Some supporters welcome public recognition; others prefer a private acknowledgement. A large thank-you page should not be treated as permission to publish every contributor’s name. The appropriate form depends on the person’s stated preference and the relevant process.
Put it into practice
Ask through the organisation’s normal communication channel and record the limited preference needed. Check the publication list against that record before posting. Keep required acknowledgements and optional publicity conceptually separate, using qualified guidance for actual legal or tax documentation.
